The Christmas Poem Today we celebrate One good thing that we saw Three kings bring. We’ve all heard About the star That three kings Saw from afar. They followed it Night and day They finally came To a baby in hay. The kings brought gifts Of frankincense and gold Myrrh too Thats what we were told. Christmas comes Just once a year So we like to Celebrate with our peers. We’ve seen them come We’ve seen them go Some went fast Some went slow. By: Allison Gesuale ... [read more]

Snow Balls Snow balls, snow balls Upon the ground. Snow balls, snow balls Lying around. Snow balls, snow balls Sitting there so still. Snow balls, snow balls Roll down hills. And do you know What they do best? They fly through the air And hit your sister in the chest!! By Becky Wright grade 3 Victoria

Christmas Fever Christmas fever. Snowflakes floating from the sky. Groups of people walking by. Christmas is coming very soon. Candy shops sparkle with red and green candy. Everyone is joyful. Kids are too excited to be unhappy. Tonight is the night. The cookies and milk are set. Last minute shoppers rush home with everything they could get. The little children, faces all bright. They promise to stay up all night. They want to see old Chris Kringle. Outside the lights start to twinkle. Then magically they fall asleep. And scurry awake to see what’s under the tree. But it is not about what’s under the tree. It’s what’s in your heart – your family!

Winter Is Here! Snow is falling to the ground. Children are playing all around. Making Snowmen that smile at you. Big ones, small ones and short ones too. Rolling in the snow until your cheeks turn pink. You are having so much fun you can’t even think. Tobogganing down the steep white hills. Mother and Fathers watching you play from the windowsills. Boots, mitty, and fluffy white hats. Parents telling you to come in for dinner from their “Welcome” mats. Sitting by the fire to warm your pink little toes. Everyone is happy and it really shows. Everyone is joyful and that is sincere. Hurray! Everyone shouts, because Winter is here! By Katya Rowley grade 5 St. Gregory

The 21st When it’s cold outside you’re all bundled up, All you need is your hot chocolae cup. It warms you up in one little sip, But if that’s not enough, I’ll give you a tip. Just sit in front of the open fire, Watch the snow pile higher and higher. Snowflakes fall from the sky, Here comes the snow plough passing by. Snowmen sit on every lawn, Too bad they might melt by dawn. The stores are filled with holiday cheer, It’s time, it’s here, it is really near. We celebrate on the twenty-fifth, Funny, people think it’s a myth. They call it Christmas, that is it’s name, It’s the holiday that stays the same. Presents sitting under the tree, There’s one, two, three…and look they’re all for me. Big dinners with lots of food, They get me in a happy mood. I celebrate with my family, We have fun and sing carols happily. So, now you know why this season is above them all, The season that comes after Fall. By: Chelsea Janisse grade 6 St. Gregory

Winter Wonderland Snowboarding, ice-skating and skiing. It’s all here! Finally the big holiday season has come. All the winter sports. And I’m just standing here reading a poem. I have to go outside and play. By: Matthew Charbonneau grade 6 L.A. Desmarais
