Backyard energy solution turning heads

St. Peter School’s recent successful read-a-thon raised $12,320.93 thanks to the great effort of the entire school community. The top three pledge-earners recently enjoyed their reward in style, featuring a limousine ride to Toys R Us where they got to spend their well earned gift certificates. K of C leases
This recent addition to Tecumseh’s skyline is tucked in behind the Tecumseh Knights of Columbus council #4375 Hall on Lesperance Road. The cell phone tower was erected by Telus Mobility to help eradicate some dead spots in the local service area. The details of the five year lease were not disclosed, but the revenue from the lease, under a five year agreement, will help support the Knights of Columbus #4375 operations. ... [read more]


Golf tourney supports Arthritis Society…
Tecumseh’s Knights of Columbus Fr. Nicholas Pointe Council 4375 made a $2,000 donation to the Arthritis Society on March 15, 2006. From left, 4375’s Deputy Grand Knight Roger Sweet, Past President of the local Arthritis Society Chapter Bob Caille who is also Supreme director of the Knights of Columbus Order and 4375’s Grand Knight Mike Marcoux. Hockey hero makes it best March Break ever
While these young Tecumseh hockey players didn’t win their March Break tournament in Leamington, they were all smiles. Their stroke of luck put them at the same service station with every local girl’s hockey hero, Meghan Agosta,of the Olympic gold- medal winning Canadian Women’s Hockey Team. 2006 budget by-law passed
Tecumseh Council gave three readings to the by-law that officially puts the 2006 budget into place. The total increase of 4.77% amounts to $48.21 on a typical residential property assessed at $225,300, which takes into account the impact of property assessment increases (2005 assessment on the typical home was $220,000.) Downtown road closures done with by month’s end
Lesperance Road has been closed between Tecumseh Road and St. Denis Street since March 20, 2006 to continue with watermain replacement that closed Tecumseh Road at Lacasse for five days, ending March 17. Director of Pubic Works and Environmental Services, George De Groot, says this is “by far the most complex aspect of the work” being undertaken by J.
