THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS |
'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse;
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there;
The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads;
And mamma in her 'kerchief, and I in my cap,
Had just settled down for a long winter's nap,
When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the bed... [read more]

A Christmas message…Christmas, a Season of Gift-Giving |
As I think back to the time when I was a little boy, I can remember how excited I was looking forward with great anticipation of receiving gifts on Christmas morning. I can remember waking up early and hurrying to the Christmas tree to look for what gifts had my name on them. Then I would go to the largest of the wrapped boxes, thinking the bigger, the better the gift must be, and open that one first. Today, of course, after many years of celebrating Christmas mornings, I’ve come to find out ... [read more]

Our Celestial Neighbourhood |
And lo, the star, which they saw in the east went before them until it came and stood over where the young child was.
When they saw the star, they rejoiced in exceeding great joy."

A Christmas message… |
Being a little pencil for God
In this Season of Advent – a time of waiting in our Christian tradition, it is good to have a focus. A focus that looks past the commercialization of the season. A focus that encourages us to be in touch with ourselves. A focus that will fuel our passion to leave this world a little better than we found it. Such a focus was offered to me in a recent e-mail on the life of Mother Teresa. As a collector of quotes, this one is worth sharing. Mother Teresa said:... [read more]
