The Cada Municipal Library – Tecumseh’s Essex County Library branch, regularly offers youth programs to introduce children to the love of books and familiarize them with their local public library.
Story Time and Tot Time programs offered for preschoolers during the day are so successful that their registrations are full for coming sessions in February.

Lakewood Clubhouse to be demolished soon |
The former club house of Lakewood Golf and Country Club has been a landmark building since the 1930’s when the original owners’ group, predominantly American, annexed the existing clubhouse during prohibition days. To raise awareness and sponsors for St. Anne High School’s Aquaculture facility and the progressive Aquaculture Great Lakes Studies program, an open house is planned for prospective sponsors to learn more about the facility and course which encompasses environmental science and geography. The Outreach for Justice Team (OJT) at St. Mark’s-by-the-Lake Church recently concluded a joint project with St. Gregory The Great Parish to sponsor a refugee family from Sudan who have been settled in for a year as of September, 2006. Hard toil to travelling, local resident celebrates her century |
Martha Lauzon turns 100 years of age on February 3, 2007.
Born in Sandwich East (now Tecumseh) to Ludger and Melinda Joinville, she is the third of eight children. Her sister, Edwidge, is the only other surviving sibling and Martha treasures the visits they share.
After obtaining a Grade 8 education, Martha took a job in the shoe department at Hudson's Department Store in Detroit, Michigan, travelling daily by ferryboat across the Detroit River.

The OPP is reminding drivers to stop both ways for school busses that have stopped, have the overhead red signal-lights flashing, and the stop arm activated.
This issue has been brought to the attention of the Tecumseh OPP by several concerned citizens that have witnessed drivers passing school busses on the newly widened Tecumseh Road. Drivers on Tecumseh Road MUST stop both ways even though the roadway is now four lanes.

Tecumseh Council has approved entering a 25-year lease agreement with the Roman Catholic Episcopal Corporation of the Diocese of London, for the playground facilities at St. Mary’s Church, a.k.a. St. Mary’s Park.
