This fragrant native plant is Wild Bergamot, not to be confused with Bergamot Citrus that is used in Earl Grey Tea. Wild Bergamot is also confused for Bee Balm. For this reason we refer to it by its Ojibwa name, Sasapkwanins. The Oswego tribes of the New York region introduced this plant to the early settlers who were looking for a replacement for their favoured hot drink that was under political boycott (a.k.a. The Boston Tea Party.) Hence, wild bergamot is also known as Oswego Tea.

Tecumseh Transit’s new bus route with City connection |
Tecumseh Transit’s new bus route will connect riders to Windsor destinations. Beginning August 16, 2010, a new bus schedule will be implemented that takes one hour for a complete circuit. When the bus enters Windsor boundaries it heads directly for Tecumseh Mall down Tecumseh Road with no stops in between. The map above shows the revised Tecumseh Transit route. Town Transit heads to Mall |
On August 16, 2010, Tecumseh Transit will begin a new route that makes a Windsor connection at Tecumseh Mall. So that accessing Windsor destinations from Tecumseh (and vice versa) isn’t cost-prohibitive for a round trip, riders transferring from Transit Windsor buses to the Tecumseh bus will be able to do so free of charge provided they present a valid transfer stub. Our picture of the month is a photograph of the Eagle Nebula. It is one of the few nebula that actually look like their name-sake. Tecumseh OPP advise that on the morning of July 14, 2010 they received a report of an attempted fraud by phone from a female complainant. The caller advised the complainant that he was her son. The caller explained that he was in Montreal and had been drinking when he was involved a collision and arrested for impaired driving.
