Coming off an impressive pre-season (6-1-1), the McGill Martlets’ 5-1 victory Friday over the Sherbrooke Vert et Or showed nothing but promise.
The first goal of the match came from veteran striker Alexandra Morin-Boucher in the 10th minute of play. Assisted by a long drive from freshman forward Stephanie Avery, she shot a low strike across to the left corner of the net. Ten minutes later, she struck again with a pass from rookie midfielder Hannah Rivkin.

Soccer Martlets win fifth straight preseason match
Paced by a 29th minute goal from Alexandra Morin-Boucher, the McGill women’s soccer team claimed the exhibition Old Four tournament crown in Kingston this past weekend. Morin-Boucher’s goal and a strong performance from rookie keeper Valérie Labbé helped the Martlets coast to a 1-0 road victory over the University of Toronto Varsity Blues.
EDITORIAL: The wrong McMann for the job
After what can only be called an absolute debacle in 2005, 2006 was supposed to be different for the McGill football program. With their off-field issues supposedly behind them and a strong nucleus of veterans on offence, Head Coach Chuck McMann set the second round of the playoffs as the team’s goal.
