In true Tom Brady fashion, the New England Patriots staged a historic comeback win over the Atlanta Falcons in Super Bowl LI on Sunday night. Brady led the charge with 466 passing yards and 2 touchdowns, finding an unlikely target in running back James White for 14 receptions.

Know Your Athlete: Qadr Spooner

“[Football] is something my mom forced me to be a part of,” Spooner said. “So many benefits came after that—friendships, it helped me focus on school and do better in school; if you got bad marks you got kicked off the team [in high school….] It has just helped my life out so much. It keeps you from doing bad stuff [….] You meet so many great individuals and great peers.” 

In conversation with NFL Director of Football Development Samantha Rapoport

Rapoport, a McGill alumni, is the NFL Director of Football Development, a position tasked with developing the game in order to connect qualified people with NFL jobs. Born in Vancouver, Rapoport isn’t a typical candidate for a high ranking position within the league. Her position was previously occupied by former Baltimore Raven Matt Birk.
